Blood Testing

At Promed Health & Derma, we offer a comprehensive range of blood testing services to support your health and wellbeing. Whether you need routine health checks, hormone assessments, or specialist panels, all blood samples are taken by our skilled clinical team in a comfortable and professional setting. We use trusted laboratories to ensure accurate and reliable results, typically available within 5 working days.

How the Process Works

Once your blood test has been taken, your sample will be securely collected by our medical courier and sent directly to our trusted partner laboratory for analysis. Results are typically available within a week, unless your clinician advises otherwise. When your results arrive, your clinician will carefully review them to ensure everything is in order. We will then send your results to you via the email address we have on file.

If you wish to discuss your results, face-to-face or via telephone, this incurs an extra charge.

Our clinicians will guide you through the process, explain your results in plain language, and recommend any next steps or treatments if needed. With flexible appointment times and a commitment to personalised care, we make blood testing simple, accessible, and stress-free.

Unsure about What Blood Test is Right For You?

If you’re unsure which blood test is right for you, we recommend booking a consultation with one of our experienced clinicians. During your 30‑minute consultation (£90), we’ll discuss your symptoms, medical history, and health concerns to advise on the most appropriate blood tests for your needs.

This means you’ll only have the tests that are genuinely useful for you – helping you avoid spending money on unnecessary investigations and ensuring you receive the most relevant and accurate testing for your individual situation.

Promed Blood panels

Standard Screen Plus (Male & Female) — with Hormonal Health

The Standard Screen Plus Blood Test for men and women is designed to give you a detailed overview of your health in one appointment. This comprehensive private blood test in Liverpool includes key panels for thyroid function, full blood count, heart health and cholesterol, liver function, kidney function, diabetes screening (HbA1c/insulin), iron status, bone health (including vitamin D) and urinalysis—plus an advanced hormonal health panel.

This is a great option if you’re experiencing symptoms such as fatigue, low mood, weight changes, poor sleep, reduced libido, brain fog, irregular cycles, or you simply want a proactive health MOT.

Tired All The Time

If you’re tired all the time, our targeted fatigue blood test is designed to help identify common medical causes of ongoing low energy. This comprehensive private blood test checks your full blood count (to look for signs of anaemia and general health), thyroid function (a common cause of fatigue and brain fog), kidney function, diabetes markers (blood sugar balance), infection and inflammation, plus key nutritional levels including iron status and essential vitamins. It’s ideal if you’ve been feeling run down, struggling with concentration, or not recovering well from stress or training—and it provides clear results to guide the next steps with a clinician if anything needs further investigation.

Advanced GP2 Health Screen (Male & Female)

Our Advanced GP2 Health Screen (Male & Female) is a comprehensive blood and urine check designed to give a deeper view of your overall health with extra focus on heart and metabolic risk. It includes everything in our Standard Screen Plus—covering core markers for blood health, liver and kidney function, thyroid, diabetes, bone health, urinalysis and relevant tumour markers—then adds advanced cardiovascular testing (including cholesterol particle risk and inflammation), a cardiovascular risk score, and additional metabolic markers linked to metabolic syndrome. It’s ideal if you have a family history of heart disease, want a more detailed heart health blood test, are monitoring cholesterol, weight or blood sugar, or you simply want a higher-level preventative health check with clear next steps based on your results.

Sports Performance

Built for athletes and active people, our Sports Performance profile helps you optimise training and recovery by monitoring the key areas that impact performance: nutrition, hormones and stress, alongside essential health markers. It gives a clear picture of factors linked to fatigue, low stamina, slow recovery and overtraining, while also checking heart health, inflammation, thyroid function, iron status, kidney and liver function, and muscle/joint strain—helping you spot issues early and reduce injury risk. Ideal for anyone training hard, returning to sport, or wanting a smarter, data-led approach to performance and wellbeing.

Hormonal Health

Our Hormonal Health blood test checks your key sex hormones to assess hormone balance and help investigate symptoms such as irregular periods, PMS or menopause symptoms, fertility concerns, low libido, acne or hair changes, and mood or energy changes. It’s a helpful option if you want clearer answers about what may be driving your symptoms, or if you’d like a baseline to track changes over time and discuss next steps with a clinician.

Promed Hair Health Blood Panel

Our Hair Health Blood Panel is designed to look for common underlying causes of hair thinning, shedding, or changes in hair quality. It checks key areas linked to hair growth including thyroid function, hormone balance, iron stores, essential vitamins and minerals, and markers of inflammation—alongside broader health indicators that can impact energy, stress and recovery. Ideal if you’re noticing increased shedding, gradual thinning, post-illness hair loss, or you want a clearer clinical picture before starting supplements or treatment.

Nutrition and Lifestyle DNA Test

Our Nutrition & Lifestyle DNA Test analyses key genetic markers linked to nutrition, exercise response, and lifestyle factors to help you build a more personalised plan for health, performance, and long-term disease prevention. It’s ideal if you want clearer guidance on how your body may respond to different training styles, dietary approaches, caffeine, and other lifestyle inputs—so you can make smarter choices with more confidence. This test is often requested to support tailored nutrition/performance programmes, or when recurring symptoms or suspected deficiencies suggest a more personalised approach may be helpful.

Our genetic tests are processed by our partner laboratory and typically take around 6 weeks for results to be returned.

Lifestyle Screen

Our Lifestyle Screen combines essential clinical chemistry with key nutritional markers to give a clear, practical overview of your general wellbeing. It’s a great option if you want a proactive health check, are feeling run down, or want to understand factors that can affect energy, immunity, metabolism and long-term health. The screen reviews core health areas including blood health, heart, liver, kidney and bone function, blood sugar balance, and iron status—alongside important nutritional levels such as folate, vitamin B12 and vitamin D—helping you spot potential issues early and plan next steps with confidence.

Full Blood Count (FBC)

A Full Blood Count is a simple, widely used blood test that checks your red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. It can help screen for common issues such as anaemia, signs of infection or inflammation, and concerns related to blood clotting. It’s a useful first-step test if you’re feeling tired, run down, frequently unwell, or you want a baseline check of your general health.

Women's Midlife Health Check

Our Women’s Midlife Health Check is designed to support you through perimenopause, menopause and midlife health changes by giving a clear overview of the areas most commonly affected. It reviews hormone balance, thyroid function, cholesterol and heart risk, and blood sugar control, helping to explain symptoms such as fatigue, weight changes, low mood, sleep disruption and brain fog. Results can be used to guide personalised next steps and lifestyle or treatment options with a clinician, based on your individual health picture.

Stress

Our Stress blood test checks cortisol and DHEA‑S to help assess how your body is responding to ongoing stress and how well your adrenal hormones are balanced. It can be a helpful option if you’re dealing with persistent fatigue, poor sleep, low resilience, mood changes, brain fog, or burnout-style symptoms, or if you want a baseline before making lifestyle changes. Results support a clearer, more personalised plan for recovery and wellbeing.

Digestive Health

Our Digestive Health blood test helps investigate common underlying causes of ongoing digestive symptoms by checking for signs of H. pylori infection and coeliac disease. It’s a useful option if you’re experiencing persistent bloating, indigestion, nausea, reflux, abdominal discomfort, or changes in bowel habits, and want clearer answers to guide next steps. Results can support a more targeted treatment plan and help avoid unnecessary trial-and-error with diet or supplements.

Promed allergy panels

TESTING GUIDANCE

These allergy panels use a blood test to measure allergen-specific IgE and are suitable for use in primary care when investigating suspected Type I (IgE‑mediated) allergies. They can be used alongside, or as an alternative to, skin prick testing—particularly when skin testing isn’t suitable (for example if you’re taking antihistamines, have active eczema, or there’s a higher risk of a severe reaction).

This test does not diagnose non‑IgE conditions such as coeliac disease or lactose intolerance, and it does not measure IgG responses. All allergens should be selected based on your symptoms and history, and results should be interpreted alongside your clinical picture.

Our allergy blood tests are processed by our partner laboratory and typically take around 5–7 working days to return results.

Allergy – Food Panel

Our Food Allergy Panel is a blood test that checks for IgE‑mediated food allergies and measures your total IgE (overall allergy antibody level). It can help identify potential food-related triggers if you’re experiencing symptoms such as hives/itching, swelling, wheeze, nausea, bloating or diarrhoea. Results should always be interpreted alongside your symptoms and clinical history, and can help guide next steps such as targeted avoidance, further testing, or clinical review.

First-Line Allergy Panel

Our First-Line Allergy Panel is a practical starting-point blood test that screens for the most common inhalant and food allergens seen in primary care—covering around 80% of sensitisation in the general population. It’s ideal when your symptoms suggest a likely “everyday” trigger (such as pets, dust mites, pollen/grass, or common foods). The panel also includes total IgE to give a helpful overview of your overall allergy antibody level, with results interpreted alongside your symptoms and clinical history.

Enhanced Allergy Panel

Our Enhanced Allergy Panel is a broader allergy blood test that checks for IgE‑mediated sensitivities to a wider range of common triggers—such as pets, dust mites, pollens/grasses and selected foods—and includes total IgE (your overall allergy antibody level). It can help identify likely causes of symptoms like sneezing, itchy/watery eyes, rashes, wheeze, or digestive reactions.

This panel expands on the First-Line option by including additional allergens (including certain nuts, seafood, soy and weed pollen), increasing detection to around 90% of IgE‑mediated allergies typically seen in UK primary care. It’s a good choice if common triggers have been ruled out, your symptoms are ongoing, or you want a more comprehensive starting point.

Complete Allergy Panel

Our Complete Allergy Panel is our most comprehensive allergy blood test, checking for IgE‑mediated sensitivities across a wide range of potential triggers—pets/animals, dust mites, foods, pollens/grasses, and moulds/yeasts—and includes total IgE (your overall allergy antibody level). It can help identify likely causes of symptoms such as sneezing, congestion, itchy/watery eyes, rashes, wheeze, or digestive reactions.

This broad-spectrum panel tests 60+ allergens and is recommended if you have complex or persistent symptoms, suspect multiple sensitivities, or if earlier testing hasn’t identified a clear trigger. As with all allergy testing, results should be interpreted alongside your symptoms and clinical history, as no single test can detect every possible allergy.

Allergy – Mould & Fungal Panel

Our Mould & Fungal Allergy Panel is a blood test that checks for IgE‑mediated sensitivities to common moulds and yeasts, and includes total IgE (your overall allergy antibody level). It can help identify likely indoor triggers if you’re experiencing symptoms such as nasal congestion, sneezing, persistent cough/wheeze, or ongoing allergy symptoms at home or work. Results are best interpreted alongside your symptoms and clinical history to guide the next steps.

Allergy – Pet & Animal Dander Panel

Our Pet & Animal Dander Allergy Panel is a blood test that checks for IgE‑mediated sensitivities to common animal dander and proteins, and includes total IgE (your overall allergy antibody level). It can help identify likely triggers if you notice symptoms such as sneezing, congestion, itchy/watery eyes, wheeze, or skin flare-ups around animals. Results should be interpreted alongside your symptoms and clinical history to guide next steps.

Allergy – Pollen & Grass Panel

Our Pollen & Grass Allergy Panel is a blood test that checks for IgE‑mediated sensitivities to common tree, weed and grass pollens, and includes total IgE (your overall allergy antibody level). It can help identify likely triggers for seasonal allergy symptoms such as sneezing, congestion, itchy/watery eyes, and wheeze, and support a clearer plan for managing hay fever. Results are interpreted alongside your symptoms and clinical history.

Promed Genetic testing

Promed offers private genetic testing in Liverpool to help you understand inherited health risks and make more informed choices about your long-term wellbeing. Our genetic tests can support preventative healthcare, personalised lifestyle planning, and family screening by identifying clinically relevant genetic markers linked to health, nutrition and disease risk.

Having a genetic variant doesn’t necessarily mean you will develop a condition—it simply highlights a potential predisposition, and your lifestyle, environment and other health factors also play a role. With clear guidance on what your results mean and what to do next, genetic testing at Promed is ideal if you have a family history of certain conditions, want a proactive health check, or are looking for a more personalised approach to health and performance.

Our genetic tests are processed by our partner laboratory and typically take around 6 weeks for results to be returned.

Genetic Bowel Cancer Risk Test

Our Genetic Bowel Cancer Risk test looks for inherited genetic changes linked to bowel cancer and Lynch syndrome, helping to assess risk and guide appropriate screening. It’s recommended if you have a personal history of bowel cancer (or a Lynch-related cancer), or a family history of bowel cancer or Lynch syndrome. The test analyses a targeted panel of genes associated with inherited bowel cancer risk, with results interpreted in a clinical context to support clear next steps.

Genetic Breast & Ovarian Cancer Risk Test

Our Genetic Breast and Ovarian Cancer Risk test looks for inherited genetic changes linked to a higher risk of breast cancer and ovarian cancer, helping to inform risk assessment and appropriate screening. It’s particularly useful if you have a personal diagnosis, a strong family history of breast/ovarian cancer, or Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry. The test analyses a targeted panel of genes associated with inherited cancer risk, with results interpreted in clinical context to support clear, personalised next steps.

Genetic Coeliac Disease Test

Our Genetic Coeliac Disease test checks whether you carry the key genetic markers strongly associated with coeliac disease. It can be helpful if you have symptoms such as chronic diarrhoea, abdominal pain, bloating or fatigue, or if you have a family history of coeliac disease and want a clearer picture of your underlying risk. A positive result suggests a genetic predisposition (not a diagnosis), while a negative result makes coeliac disease much less likely.

Genetic Core Cancer Risk Test

Our Genetic Core Cancer Risk test looks for inherited genetic changes linked to a higher risk of several common cancers, including breast, bowel, prostate and ovarian cancer. It’s designed to support clearer risk assessment and screening decisions when there’s a personal diagnosis of cancer, a strong family history, or when a smaller genetic panel hasn’t identified a clear answer. This broader test provides a more comprehensive view of inherited cancer risk, with results interpreted in clinical context to guide personalised next steps.

Genetic Familial Hypercholesterolaemia (FH) Risk Test

Our Genetic Familial Hypercholesterolaemia (FH) Risk test checks for inherited genetic changes linked to FH—a condition that can cause very high cholesterol and increase the risk of early heart disease. It’s particularly useful if you have unexplained high cholesterol, or a family history of premature heart attack, as results can help clarify whether an inherited cause is likely and support more personalised screening and prevention planning.

Genetic Full Cancer Risk Test

Our Genetic Full Cancer Risk test is our most comprehensive cancer genetics panel, assessing inherited genetic changes linked to risk across a broad range of common and rarer cancers. It’s particularly helpful if you have a personal diagnosis of cancer, a strong family history, or if previous smaller panels haven’t identified a clear answer. This wider screening approach can provide more complete insight into inherited cancer risk, with results interpreted in clinical context to help guide personalised screening and next steps.

Genetic Full Cardiac Risk Test

Our Genetic Full Cardiac Risk test uses advanced genetic sequencing to assess a wide range of inherited changes linked to inherited cardiac conditions. It can help clarify the cause of unexplained cardiac symptoms, support diagnosis when the genetic basis is unclear, and guide screening for relatives when there’s a family history of heart disease or sudden cardiac events. This is a comprehensive option for patients with suspected or confirmed inherited cardiac conditions, with results interpreted in clinical context to support clear, personalised next steps.

Genetic Haemochromatosis Test

Our Genetic Haemochromatosis test checks for the most common inherited changes linked to hereditary haemochromatosis (iron overload). It can be helpful if you have unexplained raised ferritin and transferrin saturation, particularly in people with North European ancestry, to clarify whether an inherited cause is likely. Results are used alongside your blood results and symptoms to guide next steps such as monitoring, family screening, or treatment planning.

Genetic Lactose Intolerance Test

Our Genetic Lactose Intolerance test helps assess whether your body is genetically more likely to produce lower levels of lactase (the enzyme needed to digest lactose). It can be useful if you regularly experience symptoms after dairy—such as bloating, cramps, gas or diarrhoea—and want clearer insight into whether lactose intolerance could be a likely cause. Results can help guide practical dietary choices and next steps, alongside your symptoms and clinical history.

Genetic Prostate Cancer Risk Test

Our Genetic Prostate Cancer Risk test looks for inherited genetic changes linked to a higher risk of prostate cancer, helping to inform risk assessment and screening decisions. It’s recommended if you have a prostate cancer diagnosis, a strong family history of prostate cancer, or Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry. Results are interpreted in clinical context to support clear, personalised next steps for you (and, where relevant, guidance on screening for close relatives).

NHS BLOOD DRAW SERVICE

We offer NHS blood draw services for a fee of £25, which covers the blood draw procedure only. This service is ideal for patients who require a professional blood draw for NHS or external referrals but need to manage the next steps with their own healthcare provider—and it can help you avoid waiting weeks for your blood tests to be taken and processed through the usual NHS channels.

Please note that we do not process, investigate, or send your samples to the laboratory.

After your blood has been taken, you will need to take your samples back to your GP or referring clinic for further analysis and follow-up.

We recommend contacting the GP or clinic who requested your blood tests in advance to confirm if you can drop the sample directly to them.
